THE CAPITAL FACTORY FAMILY SUPPORTS THE STAND WITH AUSTIN FUND

Capital Factory is famous for our t-shirts. We printed a limited number of SXSW 2020 shirts before SXSW was canceled and this is your only chance to get one of the most exclusive Capital Factory shirts ever! All proceeds go to the Stand With Austin Fund - which makes grants to nonprofits assisting individuals and small businesses most negatively impacted by the cancellation of SXSW and least able to recover on their own.

All t-shirts are unisex, printed on Bella and Canvas tri-blend. Each shirt is a $100 donation ($80 tax deductible) for Stand With Austin Fund.

About the Fund

What is the Stand with Austin Fund?

The Stand with Austin Fund was created by Austin Community Foundation and the Entrepreneurs Foundation to receive charitable donations to support nonprofits assisting individuals and small businesses most negatively impacted by the cancellation of SXSW and least able to recover on their own. The Stand with Austin Fund is just one of several fundraising campaigns created to assist those impacted by the cancellation of SXSW.

How will Stand with Austin Fund distribute funding?

Austin Community Foundation and the Entrepreneurs Foundation will appoint a community advisory committee that will advise on the disbursement of funds. The advisory committee will assist with the following: Observe and follow best practices of similar disaster relief funds; Establish fund governance, process, criteria for directing any funds, etc.; Raise the initial matching funds and publicize the fund to raise contributions; Distribute, award and direct relief consistent with the mission of the fund, engaging proven partners with relationships with targeted recipients.

Who will receive funding?

The Stand with Austin Fund will grant to Austin-area nonprofits providing assistance to individuals and small businesses most negatively impacted by the cancellation of SXSW.

How can I apply for assistance through the Fund?

Funds will not be immediately available. We must further solidify various aspects of the fund before any dollars can be distributed, awarded or directed so as to allow the fund to be set up, to ascertain how much funding might become available, then to establish appropriate governance, processes and criteria for fund operation. The fund will seek to assist as quickly as reasonably possible.

How much funding is available?

The amount of relief funding that will be available is uncertain so no estimate can be given as to the amount of relief to be provided, the number of fund beneficiaries that might be assisted, nor the level of any assistance given. The fund will not raise or distribute anything near the potential economic loss associated with the cancellation of SXSW so it will be impossible to provide relief to all that need it or at levels equal to losses sustained. The goal is to give the community the opportunity to provide some measure of relief to some of those in the greatest need.

When will the funding be available?

The fundraising has just begun and the timing of when the funds will be disbursed has yet to be determined.
