Position: Member Company Manager

You are passionate about community building - both in companies and in the communities where they operate. You get the power of culture in helping companies succeed. And, you are a purpose driven individual who enjoys living and working in Austin’s start up and nonprofit communities. You enjoy motivating, directing and rewarding volunteers to get things done.

You would be responsible for helping Entrepreneur Foundation’s member companies design and execute employee and community engagement programs. You help organize volunteer days for member companies and even help some determine the intersection of their core competencies, their team members’ passions and pressing needs in our communities. Additionally, you are responsible for planning EF’s annual poker tournament which raises the monies to support our member company programs.

EF’s Program Coordinator will report to you. Our program coordinator helps accomplish the member company program responsibilities, supports the office and supports EF’s CEO. You will report to EF’s CEO.

With the assistance of EF’s Program Coordinator, your responsibilities would include:

  • Manage the EF Office. Respond to requests for information. Maintain and update files and filing systems. Manage the EF informational email account and general office correspondence and inquiries. Ensuring operation of office equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, maintaining supply and equipment inventories (such as toner and paper), and evaluating new equipment and techniques.

  • Develop and manage strong relationships with current and prospective EF member companies through community/employee engagement support, regular event programming, and connectedness to EF community initiatives.

  • Maintain sponsorship relationships and seek new financial support for EF programs & events

  • Develop and initiate strategic plans with the CEO to establish organization goals (e.g., 1-year, 5-year, 10-year plans)

  • Deepen and refine all aspects of communications—from web presence to external relations with the goal of creating a stronger brand presence.

  • Plan and implement EF and Culturati events, including (but not limited to) the Austin Invitational Tournament, Culturati Summit, and Spring and Fall Service Events.

  • Work with the CEO to create new programs, initiatives, and events that align with EF mission and vision

  • Coordinate with the CEO and Program Coordinator with various operational activities including: budget, meetings, tax-deduction letters, grants processing, office management, staff meetings, other tasks, etc., as directed.

  • Hire and supervise administrative and program staff, as well as event volunteers

  • Prepare for Board & Committee meetings, including coordinating administrative prep with EF staff, and presenting EF programs to the Board

  • Be active & present in the community and develop relationships with strategic community partners

  • Assist with special projects and support the organization in other tasks, as needed.

  • Provide support to the CEO as requested.

Specific requirements include:

  • Previous experience working in an operational position and/or in nonprofit management

  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and be a creative problem-solver while also being flexible and comfortable with fluid and emerging situations

  • Excellent written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures

  • General technical proficiency and adaptability

  • Highly organized, ability to prioritize/juggle diverse tasks while maintaining attention to details

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Suite

Success factors:

  • Passion for community, philanthropy, and employee engagement

  • Extroverted qualities and social disposition (speaking at forums, to company all hands meetings, and developing friends & colleagues in the startup eco-system)

  • Engage at least 40 EF member companies in community engagement programs during the year

  • Organize activities for at least 1,400 volunteers, 6,000 direct volunteer hours

  • Solution-forward approach to problems

  • Ability to multi-task and set priorities with limited guidance

  • Positive attitude and a good sense of humor is essential

  • Adaptable, flexible nature

Special skills favored:

  • Communications - written & oral

  • Familiarity with online publishing software

  • Ability to manage to budget and maintain updated excel spreadsheets

  • Website design and functions - or digital design

This is a full-time, 40 hours per week, non-exempt position, reporting to the CEO of Entrepreneurs Foundation. Due to the nature and requirements of the position, the hours are flexible to fit the need, but typically include Monday through Friday, with occasional evening requirements. The Manager will office at Capital Factory, located at 701 Brazos St., Austin, Texas 78701.

In 2016, we founded Culturati, a community of CEOs, entrepreneurs, investors and other c-suite leaders who practice & study culture building and share our playbooks. Job Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $45,000 and up depending on qualifications
